KLUSTR
CRYSTALLINE CHAIR
Klustr is an experiment in structural density and balance based on a part-to-whole relationship between a repetitive component and the geometric requirements of a functional chair. Once the most minimal framework of 3D printed components was established based on weight distribution, a secondary structural network was created by using the prismatic framework to grow crystals. As the crystals grew in vulnerable areas of the structure, the integrity of the chair increased.
